The person can also bring a lightweight flashlight and a spare batteries and a bulb, wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses to shield against the sun and they should also bring a compass, map, signal mirror or whistle, water purification tablets and a first aid kit and they should note that all trash has to be carried out of the canyon.
A known fact is that the person should avoid huffing and puffing and the can know that they are walking at a good speed if they are able to talk while walking and this is a good indicator that means that the body is getting adequate oxygen when there is no huffing and puffing. Keeping a brisk pace enables the person to be able to walk and talk which means that the legs and the body is getting the needed amount of oxygen and it also reduces the strain on the body because the lesser the metabolic waste products the body generates the better the person will feel and the more they will enjoy the hike.
